Radio Metadata Manager (or RMM for short) is our tool to manage extra metadata for Radio program graphics. By extra, we mean that this data will be used to enrich what is received from the Radio program source, so, for instance, if no data is found for a newly added song played on air, data from the Radio program software will be used as is.

Main interface

The top section of the application is where you can manage your database and configure data sources.

Database

If you've opened RMM from Multicam (see below), the default database will be selected. Multicam expects to find the file here:

C:\MulticamLibrary\Radio\Metadata.sqlite

Tip: Load can also be used to discard any changes done in the tool since last Save.

Note: currently there is no automatic reload from Multicam when the database is modified, so you'll need to close Radio and restart it before your changes are applied.

Program provider

Some radio program systems offer a public API that allows downloading metadata. Here you can configure such a connection.

When the connection is set up, you can press to download the items from the remote service.

Metadata provider

Here you can configure accounts with supported providers of music metadata, allowing you to enrich automatically the content of your metadata database.

Configuration is straightforward, enter your credentials in the appropriate tab and press .

Once it's done, you can update your existing items using these services by pressing in the main interface.

Note: this will only add missing data, it will not replace any pre-existing information.

Depending on the provider you chose and the initial data set you have, this will add:

• album names
• release dates
• genres
• album covers (URLs)

If your set contains ISRCs or MusicBrainz IDs, you can even get titles and artist names.

Items lists

The items are grouped as Songs and Audio files. The terminology can vary a lot from one radio system to another, Audio files can be called "jingles", "links", "assets", "records", etc..., they generally cover every file that is not music.

Bulk operations

Below the list of items currently in your database, you will find several bulk operations that can be applied to all items in one list at once.

First, you need to toggle the visibility of the operations' controls using .

You'll get these choices:

• Set covers' folder: pick a folder from which the song covers should be loaded. This will keep the existing file names and replace the folder by the selected one.
• Set song clips' folder: idem for song clips
• Set audio files videos' folder: idem for audio files videos
• Copy ID to Album cover: generate file names for Album covers using the value of the ID column + the image extension configured
• Copy Title to Album cover: idem using the Title
• Copy ID to Song clip: generate file names for Song clips using the value of the ID column + the video extension configured
• Copy Title to Song clip: idem using the Title
• Copy ID to Audio file clip: idem for Audio files using the ID
• Copy Title to Audio file clip: idem using the Title
