This article will help you to discover your mCAM2 PTZ camera on the network, as well as how to change its network configuration. This article will end with setting up the camera in the multiCAM application.

0. Factory settings

 Please note that the factory settings are as follow:

• Default admin account for web interface is admin / admin

If you "lost" your camera on the network, there are a couple ways to discover its actual IP address.

1.a. ONVIF Device Manager

Please note that you will not see a camera that has been manually set to "Non-discoverable" to the ONVIF protocol (this is NOT the default).

The ONVIF Device Manager can be downloaded from Sourceforge (please note that this software also allows configuration editing, so it can be useful to discover AND edit at once). Once installed, start the software (also named ONVIF Device Manager). It should discover almost immediately the cameras available on your network and display them in the left list

1.b. Router configuration

Routers can usually list the devices' IP they currently manage. Each router has different UI or command line, so please consult your local network administrator if you must check with this method. It should be noted that the mCAM2 PTZ doesn't seem to be named this way on the router. With my router, the camera was named PC-39:

2. Adjust network settings

Now that you have found the current configuration, it might not match the desired network architecture, or the subnet mask might be wrong and thus "hide" the camera to multicam. So you need to adapt the network settings, but how?
We'll describe two methods to do so.

2.a. Using the camera's web interface

This method can only be used once you have figured out the camera's IP address and if the camera's subnet mask is the same you have on the computer used to access the web interface. To connect to the camera, open your webbrowser, and navigate to the http discovered above. On my setup, this would be http://192.168.1.14

On this page, enter the administration login and password you've been provided with (we won't put them here for security reasons). On the main interface, navigate to the network submenu, and you'll be able to adjust dynamique ip address or Fixed ip addresson, IP address, Subnet Mask, Gateway as you need:

To use ONVIF, activate it in the camera menu. In ONVIFSettings set ON to OVIF and ONVIF Auth.

2.b. Using ONVIF Device Manager

If you installed ONVIF, using it to change the network settings is trivial. First, you need to select the camera you need to setup, then log in using the Name and Password found at the top of the application :

Now that you're logged in, you have access to plenty of inspection/settings. We're solely interested by the Network settings link you can find on the middle-top of the application. When the new section appears, adjust the values depending on what is needed for your network:

3. Setup in multiCAM

In multiCAM, open the settings as the highest administrator. The AUDIO/VIDEO settings subsection is now active, now click on the INPUTS tab. Adding a mCAM2 PTZ as a network video source is simple, you only have to click on the ADD INPUT button at the bottom left and you'll be prompted with this form:

To fill it please follow this guideline (as per displayed in the screenshot):

• Input type must be "IP STREAM"
• Stream is the video stream, and by default should be the IP you have found/set in the previous steps.
  • rtsp://192.168.1.14/1
• For the Control line, we will also set an IP connection
• Control IP is the camera's one, no surprise here
• and Port is 5678 (or you can specify the "mCAM2" model instead of AUTO to automatically set the port)

Click the ADD button at the bottom right to create this new input. Once declared, you can use the up/down arrows at the right to move the source up or down in the list if a custom ordering is desirable.
