Send Multicam program to Zoom Meeting
Requirements
- Multicam Suite version 10.2.10 or above
Steps
Since version 10.2.10, Multicam can natively output the program to any external software such as Zoom.
- Open Multicam (Studio for example)
- Open Zoom Workspace
- Create a new meeting
- In the camera section, select Multicam
If your Multicam version is lower than 10.2.10, don't worry you can still achieve the same result with NDI Tools and NDI Webcam. Check this article for more information : How to send Multicam program to another software as a webcam source
Add Zoom Meeting as input in Multicam
There are 3 ways to send the video feed of Zoom Meeting to Multicam :
- Using the integrated NDI output with Zoom Rooms paid feature where you can select which participant to output live on NDI
- Do a screen capture of Zoom meeting window with NDI Screen Capture tool
- Use a hardware video capture card on the Multicam machine and use a second computer to connect to the meeting. Then send the video output of the meeting to the Multicam video capture card (through HDMI for example)
The second option will be described here, as it can work for everyone, even with a free Zoom Meeting account and without any video capture card.
Requirements
-
NDI Tools 6 package with NDI Screen capture (free)
- VB-Cable virtual audio device (free)
Steps
- Open Screen Capture from the NDI Tools
- Open the Screen Capture settings by right clicking on the icon in the bottom right corner of Windows notification area
- By default, Screen Capture is capturing the full screen of each of your monitors. Each monitor is 1x NDI video output. You can also create a region of interest by right clicking on the Screen Capture icon, then on Capture Settings, tick Region of Interest and then click on Configure Rol
- This will open a new window NDI Region of Interest that you can move and resize to your needs, like this for example
- To capture the audio of Zoom Meeting, click on Audio in Zoom and select CABLE Input (VB-Audio Virtual Cable)
- In Multicam, open the settings of your room. In AUDIO EXT. DEVICES, add a new audio input and select CABLE Output (VB-Audio Virtual Cable). If you don't see it, click on the refresh button.
- You can rename the audio input by clicking on the pencil icon. It can facilitate your audio routing if you have several audio I/O
- To set up the mix-minus routing, click on AUDIO MAPPING and untick NDI for the VB audio input, so Multicam won't send it back to the participants
- Add the video input of Zoom Meeting NDI Screen Capture by clicking on ADD INPUT, then NDI STREAM, then set it up as a fixed video input by clicking on the first camera icon. You can also use this input as PC INPUT.
- In the source, find the NDI Screen Capture. It is labeled like this :
Name of your computer (your GPU model + your monitor number) NDI SOURCE your IP address
If you have several monitors and you created a region of interest, select the monitor where the ROI is. If you don't know, go to Windows > Settings > System > Display to identify them
- Now open your Multicam module like STUDIO. You should have your Zoom audio and video.
- You can rename your video input to "Zoom meeting" for example by clicking on the i icon and then on the pencil icon of the corresponding video input
